Dream Journal Entry #1
I rarely have dreams when I sleep, but when I do they’re pretty vivid and pretty out of this world. I have always wanted to have a dream journal but I always forget. Starting this moment I’m going to write what I remember of my dreams. I always thought they’d make wonderful stories. If not, I can always learn how to interpret them. Maybe my dreams hold the answers to many many questions I have about myself & what I’m experiencing every day.
DREAM JOURNAL ENTRY #1:
July 24, 2007; 9:24am
I was having a party to celebrate something with friends and my sister. We were drinking and cheering on each other inside a tree house made of nipa. I peered outside the window and noticed something from afar. There were men lined up on the fields, moving closer and closer to town. Then someone was frantically knocking on the door yelling, “The Japanese are coming! They’re attacking Taguig! Hide! Hide!”
We all panicked. I grabbed my sister’s hand & ran to our house. I told the maids the Japanese are coming & to grab whatever they can. I was still holding my sister’s hand when she said we forgot to bring our guns & swords. The maids told us it’s no use to go back because we left our weapons in Japan. I was trying to think which place is best to hide when I remembered my parents went out for groceries. I told one of the maids to send an sms to my parents that the Japanese are attacking Taguig. When they didn’t reply to the sms, I called them up to let them know.
“Mom, the Japanese are attacking our town! Just our town! So stay wherever you are! Or drive to Quezon City! Quezon City’s far from here! Go there! They won’t be attacking Quezon City! It’s too far for them! Where’s daddy?!”
“Your dad’s having a haircut.”
“Tell him! Tell him to drive far away! I have my sister and the maids with me! Michelle Yeoh’s here to help, too! We’re going to be fine, I think! Hurry! Drive away!”
“Ok, God bless!”
I decided it’s best to hide in the tree house. I said to myself they’re not going to hurt the trees. So we went to the tree house with lots of food & water just in case the attack doesn’t end in a couple of hours. I told the maids to cover up the tree house with leaves hoping this will help us not to get noticed by the Japanese.
We all waited, holding our breaths silent, scared to death. Wishing nothing bad would happen. Someone knocked on the door again. I placed a hand over my sister’s mouth and shushed the maids to be quiet. Maybe they’d go away, but they just kept on knocking.
I decided to open the door. It was the Mayor of Taguig! He shook my hand & told us the Japanese aren’t attacking. When Michelle Yeoh heard the Japanese aren’t attacking, she started climbing trees and scaling walls just to be sure we’re all safe. The mayor said the Japanese just want some dried mangoes & some steel for their tanks. It turns out their tanks are made of bamboo. I told them they can have as much steel as they want but it’s not going to help them in anyway because there’s rust. As for the dried mangoes, I told him I don’t have any left because Ruffa Gutierrez ate them all. I told him to try asking for some next door.
I felt so relieved there was no war. I was about to call my parents when my cellphone started ringing. It didn’t stop ringing even when I pressed the answer button. It rang even louder when I tried turning the phone off. I threw it against the wall hoping that smashing it would make the ringing stop.
But it didn’t.
I woke up.
It was the alarm clock.
