Televangelism, yet again…
When I came home from work about 2 hour ago, I chanced upon the same televangelist show. I hate tv evangelists, but for some reason, I’m morbidly drawn to watch the show for the second time in less than a week. I don’t know… Maybe it’s the same morbid fascination I feel whenever I log on to Rotten.com. Hey, you can’t blame me. It’s a toss between Jerry Springer and this tv evangelist, and God knows I don’t have the patience to watch screaming rednecks!
This particular tv evangelist’s show didn’t fail to surprise me. When I turned the tv on, I painfully watched four grown-up women, dressed in their Sunday’s best, on the stage, each holding microphones, and singing…
COUNTRY PRAISE MUSIC!!!
My mind went blank. My ears almost bled! All I could catch was, “The Lord… Blah blah blah… wheat and green grass, over yonder…” to the tune of country music!
It’s like LeAnne Rhymes or Rebba McIntyre decided to become Christians or Baptists and burst into praise songs!
Just when I thought country music couldn’t get any worse…
It just did, folks. It just did.
